Our Story
Hi, we're Jeff Petkevicius and Caroline Krieger. Yes, we are married, and there is a funny story about why Caroline kept her last name. We’ve been married for 20 years, but I had a trail of marriage destruction… so when we were getting married, I suggested she keep her name and possibly save some money down the road…. LOL… Thank God it’s never got to that, and our marriage is the biggest blessing for both of us and keeps getting stronger.
More than anything else, we're two ordinary people who have experienced the extraordinary grace of God.
Our lives haven't been perfect. We've known success and failure, victories and setbacks, seasons of abundance and seasons where we wondered what God was doing. Along the way, we've learned one life-changing truth:
God rarely wastes a struggle.
Every challenge, every heartbreak, every lesson, and every victory can become part of someone else's path to hope.
That's why The Way Out on Purpose exists.
Our mission is simple:
To encourage, equip, and inspire people to discover that their greatest setbacks can become their greatest purpose.
Through books, devotionals, recovery resources, speaking, coaching, and practical acts of service, we want to help people take one more step toward the life God created them to live.

Meet Jeff
Jeff Petkevicius is an author, speaker, recovery advocate, chaplain, and co-founder of The Way Out on Purpose Publishing.
For decades, Jeff has built teams, led organizations, served communities during disasters, and dedicated his life to helping people discover hope when life feels hopeless. As co-founder of United By BBQ, he helped lead disaster relief efforts that have served hundreds of thousands of meals across the Gulf South, proving that sometimes the greatest ministry begins with a hot meal and a listening ear.
His personal journey through recovery from compulsive overeating has become the foundation for many of his books, including The Great Ruminate Project, Gluttony: The Battle You Are Losing, The Jesus 33, and Time Out. Through honest storytelling, biblical truth, and practical application, Jeff encourages readers to exchange shame for grace and fear for faith.
Whether speaking in churches, serving inmates as a volunteer jail chaplain, mentoring men in recovery, or writing his next book, Jeff's passion remains the same:

Meet Caroline
Caroline Krieger is a compassionate teacher, encourager, author, and co-founder of The Way Out on Purpose Publishing.
Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and servant's heart have impacted countless lives. Caroline is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, combining practical wellness with heartfelt encouragement to help people experience healing in body, mind, and spirit.
She has a remarkable ability to see potential where others see problems and to offer hope where others see obstacles. Whether she's mentoring, teaching, writing, or simply walking beside someone through a difficult season, Caroline reflects God's love with authenticity and grace.
Many of the projects published through The Way Out on Purpose have been shaped by her wisdom, encouragement, and steadfast belief that ordinary people can live extraordinary lives when they trust God.
